Who we are:
We are a group of 15 high school juniors and seniors from The Wellington School in Columbus, Ohio, working alongside two teachers in a unique three-week experiential learning program.
In the first week, we dedicate our time to preparation—diving into background research, establishing group norms, and equipping ourselves with the historical knowledge and context needed for our journey. This week sets the foundation for everything that follows.
During the second week, we hit the road together, visiting historic Civil Rights sites and gaining firsthand insight into the people, places, and movements that shaped history. These immersive experiences allow us to connect what we've studied to the real world in powerful and personal ways.
In our final week, we return home and shift into the role of creators. Our goal is to translate our experiences into something lasting—this website!—a digital project that documents our learning, reflections, and hopes for the future. Through this work, we aim to honor the past and inspire action in the present.
